ABOUT WHALE OF A DAY
Whale of a Day is an annual festival put on by the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and the nonprofit Los Serenos de Point Vicente celebrating the migration of the Pacific gray whale from its summer feeding grounds in the Bering and Chuchki Seas in Alaska to the winter breeding and calving grounds in Baja California. Migration viewing takes place December through mid-May along the California South Bay coastline.
Whale of a Day is normally held at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's event will take place virtually here on April 10, 2021.
